DaVinci Resolve Studio in the browser: what each plan unlocks

Every plan opens the same studio: the media pool, Cut, Edit, Colour, Fusion, Fairlight and Deliver pages are always there. What changes is how far a timeline can be pushed, how fast it renders and how many people can work on it with you.

What every plan includes

The core workflow is never paywalled. Whatever you pay, you get a multi track timeline, node based colour, access from any laptop and deliveries that leave the studio in professional formats.

  • Media pool, Cut, Edit, Colour and Deliver pages
  • Cloud projects with Google sign in, no install anywhere
  • Delivery presets for web, social and audio
  • Monthly studio credits for rendering and proxy generation
Pro and Studio

What the higher plans add

The step up is about resolution, finishing depth and throughput. Pro covers working editors and colourists, Studio covers teams shipping episodic, broadcast and client work.

  • 8K timelines with 32-bit float colour on Pro and Studio
  • Fusion compositing, magic mask and the 3D workspace
  • Fairlight audio finishing with loudness metering
  • Proxy workflows and HDR delivery presets
  • Priority rendering in the queue for long form jobs
Teams

Working with other people

The Studio plan turns the project into a shared workspace: one media pool, several seats and a review loop that does not depend on sending drives around.

  • Shared media pools and project versions across the team
  • Seats for editors, colourists and assistants
  • Review and approval on the same sequences
  • A dedicated support channel for production issues
Choosing

Sizing the plan to the job

Start where the work actually is. Short projects and first passes fit Starter, a weekly finishing schedule fits Pro, and shared long form work fits Studio.

  • Starter: 300 credits, 1080p and 4K timelines, YouTube and H.264 presets
  • Pro: 1,500 credits, 8K and 32-bit float, Fusion, Fairlight, priority queue
  • Studio: 5,000 credits, shared pools, team seats, stem and broadcast mastering
  • Upgrade or downgrade at any point, projects stay exactly where they are

Frequently asked questions

Studio plans questions that come up before a first render.

Is there a free version of the browser studio?

The Starter plan is the entry tier at $9 per month, or $7.50 billed yearly, and it opens the same studio the higher plans use. Sign in with Google to look around before you pay.

What happens to my projects if I change plan?

Projects stay in the media pool with their timelines, grades and mixes. A lower plan may limit timeline resolution and finishing pages, but nothing is deleted.

How many people can use one Studio seat?

Seats are per person. Studio adds team seats so editors, assistants and colourists can open the same shared pool and work on their own project versions.

What is a studio credit?

Credits pay for work the studio does for you: rendering deliveries, generating proxies and running heavy effects. They refresh at the start of each billing period.

Is this the official Blackmagic Design product?

No. This is an independent third party browser studio that follows the same editing, colour, Fusion and Fairlight workflow. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by Blackmagic Design.
